Former NFL wide receiver David Patten, who won three Super Bowl titles with New England Patriots, reportedly riding his Motorcycle when drove into the opposite lane and hit sedan and was killed in a same crash on Thursday outside Columbia, South Carolina.
He was 47 and married to Gailena Patten, they have four children throughout their Marriage. Patten’s kept their relationship away from social media and from the public eye so not much is known about their married life.
12-year NFL veteran, Patten played for five different NFL Teams. He caught 324 passes for 4,715 yards, 24 touchdowns during his entire career, which will largely, remembered for his time with the New England Patriots. He won three Super Bowls during his four years with the franchise.
Patten recorded a career-high 824 receiving yards in 2002 with Patriot’s, After injuries limited him to just six games in 2003, Patten returned after his injury to catch a career-high seven touchdowns while helping Patriots defeat the Eagales in Super Bowl XXXIX in 2004.
Patten’s best season during was in 2007, when he caught 54 passes for 792 yards and three touchdowns as a member of the Saints. He then had his brief offseason with Cleveland & New England before announcing his retirement in 2010.When he retired during Patriots training camp, Patten described his time with the Patriots as the highlight of his whole career.
In retirement, Patten returned to Western Carolina to finish his bachelor’s degree in social.
