We know little about the villain series Penguin so far, but Colin Farrell gave us a starting point for the story. According to the actor, production begins a week after the final events of the film. Batman (2022).
In an interview for the Extra it’s the collider Farrell reaffirmed his affection for the villain of A.D and spared no praise for Lauren LeFranc, who is the screenwriter and showrunner of the project. He also revealed that the episodes should add up to six to eight hours and gave a small spoiler of what we might see in the first few minutes.
“Gotham is still, a little, underwater. I read the first script of the first episode and it starts with my feet splashing water across Falcone’s office.”
The actor got very positive reactions as Penguin and, following his words, wanted to appear more and more like in the character. According to deadline the series’ plot to be “like scarface“, developing Oswald Cobblepot’s rise into what became an empire of crime.
Filming for the Penguin series will begin in early 2023. A release date has yet to be set.
