Shadow and bone, based on the popular Leigh Bardugo Grishaverse trilogy, debuted already in April 2021 and became a big hit among fantasy series lovers. Shortly after its release, it was announced that the series would be returning for a second season, but if you were hoping for a release this month, you’ll be disappointed to find out Shadow and Bone season 2 not coming to Netflix in October 2022!
In fact, Netflix follows Tudum event on September 24th, it looks like the show won’t be returning to the streamer in 2022 at all…

Shadow and Bone Season 2 Release Update
We have been waiting on the edge of our seats for an update on the release of Shadow and Bone season 2 ever since it was confirmed that the series finished filming the new episodes in June 2022.
Many predicted that the series would return by the end of 2022 (including us), but after the streamer’s event, which included an exciting sneak peek at the second installment (which you can check out below), it was revealed that Shadow and Bone season 2 coming in 2023.
But what about no new in 2023? We’re not entirely sure, but we might be able to make a guess.
When could Shadow and Bone season 2 come to Netflix?
Typically, Netflix originals spend between six to eight months in post-production before release, but in special cases, like this, post-production takes much longer. Given that the series ended filming in June 2022, we think the earliest Shadow and Bone season 2 could find its way back to the screen vr is in February 2023.
That said, post-production can take longer given the large amount of special effects needed to bring Grishaverse to life, so take our news with a grain of salt. We are sure that more details will be released over the next few months and we will be able to give you a more specific release date.
