Robbie Coltrane Scottish actor who played the affectionate giant Rbeo Hagrid in the films of Harry Potter, died on 14th in the United Kingdom, aged 72. Released on BBC and the cause of death has not yet been released.
The news was given by his agent, Belinda Wright, who recalled Coltrane’s legacy in the young wizard franchise:
He will likely be remembered for decades to come as Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, a role that has brought joy to children and adults all over the world. Personally, I will remember him as a very loyal client, an amazing actor and a highly intelligent person with brilliant wit. After 40 years as his agent, I will miss him.
Born in March 1950, Robbie Coltrane has become a very popular figure in British cinema, theater and television. In the 1990s, he began to gain international fame when he played the villain Valentin Zukovsky in the films of 007 at the stage when Pierce Brosnan lived James Bond.
In addition, he played the criminal psychologist Edward “Fitz” Fitzgerald in the series cracker which was on the air between 1993 and 2006, a period in which it won seven awards BAFTA (the most prestigious British award) home.
But the role that gave him worldwide fame is, without a doubt, that of Rbeo Hagrid in Harry Potter.
