After a long wait, the Marvel finally released the trailer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The first film from the studio to hit theaters in 2023, the new adventure of the shrinking heroes will also open Phase 5 of the MCU.
Even with all the mystery, the preview revealed interesting clues about the story of the film. Below, we’ve gathered six moments worth checking out more closely by anyone who wants to be prepared for Scott and Hope’s new adventure. Check out:
Scott Lang: Hero of the People

Ant-Man seems to have received a lot of recognition for the victory of the Avengers against Thanos. The trailer opens with quick cutscenes showing Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) appearing on red carpets at major events, greeting a fan with an Ant-Man backpack, and even receiving the title of employee of the century at the ice cream parlor he worked at. Ant Man (2015).
In part, this prestige may also come from the podcast that Lang launched after the events of Ultimatum. The production seems to be quite popular, considering how Kamala Khan seemed to be infatuated with it in the series. Ms. Marvel. To his misfortune, not all this popularity prevented the public from mistaking him for the Spider man. It seems that confusing insects and spiders is also common in the MCU universe.
Satellite to the Quantum Realm

The trailer reveals that the kickoff to the plot of Quantumania a kind of satellite developed by Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the daughter of Ant-Man. The girl justifies the invention by saying that people need help, indicating that the motivation is to rescue people trapped there. Unfortunately, the signal attracts unwanted attention and ends up sucking the entire family back into the Kingdom.
Janet Van Dyne’s Secrets

An important point of the previous films of Ant-Man and the Wasp was the time that Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) was trapped in the Quantum Realm. Captive there since the 1980s, she was rescued by Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) in 2018 saying that she is not the same woman as when she disappeared thanks to that place. At the time, she credits her special abilities with evolution, but it seems that’s not all.
in the trailer of Quantumania She despairs when Cassie reveals the quantum satellite and tells her family that there is something she never told. Considering the presence of the villain Kang and an army against him, it’s possible that Janet needed to ally herself with one of the organizations to survive that long. It remains to be seen which side it is linked to and what will be the consequences of this return.
Kang the Conqueror

The preview finally featured the live-action version of Kang the Conqueror. Classic Avengers villain, the character played by Jonathan Majors appears imposing and proposing a partnership with Ant-Man. If the hero helps him, he promises to take him back home and give him more time. A proposal that makes Scott suspicious.
It is worth noting that this Kang is a variant of the One Who Remains, a character introduced in the final episode of the series. Loki. In the chapter, the character explains that if he were killed, which happens, his terrible variants could return to cause a war across the multiverse.
One possibility is that the Kang variant is trapped in the Quantum Realm, just like Janet was, and will blackmail the good guys to get freedom and cause such a war. Considering a scene in which Ant-Man appears giant surrounded by several ships and that the next Avengers movie will be called Kang Dynasty, there is a good chance that the Pym/Van Dyne family will end up helping in this escape.
Bill Murray

the trailer of Quantumania revealed the first image of Bill Murray in the MCU. Known for films like The Ghostbusters (1984) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), the star joined Marvel Studios in an unknown role. Judging by the preview, he appears to be the leader of the army that fights Kang in the Quantum Realm. With that, perhaps he is the target of the partnership between the villain and Ant-Man.
Life in the Quantum Realm

It is interesting to note that the new film promises to show unexplored locations in the Quantum Realm, a place described by Janet as a “secret universe”. In these new territories, it is possible to see different inhabitants of the place, some of them well armed, and also monstrous creatures. interesting to note that visual rhymes with landscapes and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and black Panther (2018), indicating that this location is not that far from planet Earth.
